Camping in Beziers

Perched on a bluff above the River Orb within the beautiful Languedoc region of southern France, Béziers lies discretely between Narbonne (to the south) and Sète (to the north). It is an attractive Roman town, renowned for its summer Feria and wonderful wines. It’s also a short distance from Siblu’s campsites in Languedoc, the closest being La Carabasse, but holiday parks Les Sables du Midi and Le Lac des Rêves are also nearby, making any of the three a great base to explore this intriguing, quintessential town of the ‘Midi’ while getting a real insight into the Languedoc way of life.

What is there to do in Beziers?

    Beaches

Backed by beautiful sand dunes, Sérignan-Plage is a long stretch of fine, sandy beach that feels suitably wild, but with sufficient facilities nearby to keep all friends and family members fed (pizzerias and beach cafes) and entertained (crazy golf) in true holiday style. Best of all, this is all just 7 miles from the city.

  • Flâner dans la ville

    Museums & attractions

A visit to Béziers must include a gentle meander through the charming medieval streets of its old town. Then there’s the grandiose Romanesque Cathédrale St-Nazaire – you can climb the main tower for a rewarding 360-degree view of Béziers’ Roman bridge, surrounding vineyards and the distant foothills of the Massif Central. It’s also worth dropping by the Musée des Beaux Arts for the paintings by Rubens, Delacroix and several local artists.

  • Visiter l’église Sainte-Bernadette

    Places to Visit

Béziers is really famed for its annual Feria in mid-August. It’s one of the region’s largest and most atmospheric events, when hundreds of thousands of visitors take the town by storm to experience corridas (bullfights) in the arenas, music and dancing in the streets, rugby matches, fireworks, wine-tasting, and general merry-making. A truly unique southern France celebration, and one definitely not to be missed!
